Privacy Policy
The short version: WorkCinch keeps your jobs, clients, hours, invoices and photos on your iPhone. There's no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking. Data only leaves your phone if you turn on online card payments, and then only what's needed to make a payment link.
This policy explains what the WorkCinch iPhone app ("WorkCinch", "we", "us") collects, why, and what you can do about it. It also covers this website, workcinch.com.
Data that stays on your phone
Everything you enter into WorkCinch is stored only on your device. That includes your clients and their contact details, jobs, hours and breaks, estimates, invoices, receipts, deposits, expenses, notes, photos and business details. We don't have a copy and can't see it.
WorkCinch does not sync to our servers or to iCloud. If you use Export All Data, the file is created on your phone and goes wherever you choose to send or save it.
When data leaves your phone
Nothing leaves your phone unless you connect Stripe to take card payments online. If you do:
Connecting Stripe
- Your phone signs in anonymously to WorkCinch's server. We don't ask for your name, email or a password.
- You set up your Stripe account on Stripe's own pages. Your identity, bank and tax details go directly to Stripe and never pass through WorkCinch.
Creating a payment link
- We send Stripe the amount and a short description, like "Invoice #12 — Kitchen remodel" or "Deposit — Kitchen remodel," plus a random ID. Your client sees this description on Stripe's checkout page.
- Checking a payment's status or cancelling a link sends only random IDs.
When a client pays
- Stripe tells our server the amount, status, time and Stripe's reference IDs.
- We do not receive, store or log your client's name, email or card details. Stripe handles those under its own privacy policy.
What our server stores
Only if you use online payments. We keep:
| Record | What's in it |
|---|---|
| Your connection | An anonymous user ID, your Stripe account ID, setup status, and who pays card fees |
| Payment links | One record per link: amount, description, status, Stripe IDs, and whether it was a test or live payment |
| Processed events | IDs of Stripe notifications we've already handled, so nothing is counted twice |
We don't store files, photos or documents on our server.
Why we use it
Solely to create payment links, show you whether they've been paid, and handle refunds and disputes. We don't sell or share your data, use it for advertising, or combine it with other data.
Who else is involved
- Stripe processes card payments and holds your payout account. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Supabase hosts WorkCinch's payment server and database.
- Apple handles WorkCinch Pro subscriptions. We never see your payment details, and buying Pro sends us nothing. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Camera, photos and notifications
- Camera: used only when you take a photo of your work. Photos stay on your phone.
- Photos: when you add a logo or a photo, you pick the image with Apple's photo picker. WorkCinch only gets the images you choose, not your library.
- Notifications: used for clock-in and clock-out reminders. You turn them on in Settings, and they're scheduled on your phone.
Analytics and tracking
None. WorkCinch contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking tools, and doesn't track you across apps or websites. This website doesn't use cookies or analytics.
Keeping and deleting your data
- On your phone: delete anything in the app, or delete the app to remove all of it. Export first if you want a copy.
- On our server: payment records are kept so your payment history and refunds keep working. To have your server records deleted, email [email protected] and we'll remove them. Stripe keeps its own records of payments as required by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California, you may have the right to know what we hold about you, get a copy, correct it, or delete it. Because we hold so little, the easiest way is to email us. We don't sell or share personal information.
Children
WorkCinch is a business tool and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
